East Palestine has a beautiful park that encompasses approximately 100 acres. It has a swimming pool with a new state-of-the-art waterslide, softball and baseball fields, basketball courts, volleyball courts, horseshoe pits and tennis courts. A renovated pool lounge area with new tables & umbrellas was completed in 2002. Scout cabins are located in the park, along with a pond and four playground areas that include a community-built Leathers Associates all-wooden playground called "Rainbow Dreamland". There are also many pavilions, shelters and open tables to enjoy picnics in the park. The large pavilion will accommodate approximately 100 people. The Community Center was recently renovated and is available all year for weddings, receptions, graduation parties, family reunions, birthday parties, showers, conferences, meetings, card parties, senior get-togethers and leisure activities, such as yoga and line dancing. The Captain Taggart gymnasium can be rented for basketball, birthday parties, etc. The Boy Scout Cabin was painted recently and rental of the Cabin now includes a new 24 X 16 attached covered picnic shelter. New restrooms are located near the Cabin. Rental of all of the above listed park facilities is scheduled by park personnel in summer months (330-426-2301) and by the Administration Office from September to May (330-426-4367).

Park programs include reading camps, horseshoe leagues, soccer leagues, flag football, T-ball, baseball, softball, special swim "splash" nights and swimming lessons. The park hosts all high school softball, baseball, cross country and tennis home matches. It is also the focal point of many City activities including Fourth of July events, a Memorial Day service, a Park Festival in July, and the Alumni & Friends Scholarship Duck Derby. Entertainment is often available at the park gazebo.

Five-year planning included not only the new waterslide, but also expansion of the concession stand, the addition of 2 new ball fields, a soccer field, renovation of the shelters and updating park equipment & facilities. The new ball fields are in place along with the soccer field.

The 3-mile Community Hiking/Biking Trail, which includes the Antoni Gaudi Scenic Way, is now open. It is easily accessible from several parking lots in the City Park.
